Strictly speaking it isn’t Friday any more but here’s my  anyway [Ssshhh, I won’t tell if you don’t…] …

1. Do you enjoy the cold weather and snow for the holidays?

Brrrr.  Not ‘alf!  I love the cold at Christmas.  It’s what Christmas is all about.  And snow would be super but we don’t seem to have had a “White Christmas” in England for donkey’s years.  Not that it matters too much because my lack of coordination tends to see me plummet to the ground and break/fracture bones when it snows.  Humph.

2. What is your ideal holiday celebration? How, where, with whom would you celebrate to make things perfect?

Christmas with family is lovely.  I’ve never spent a Christmas Day with The Blokey but hopefully next year we’ll have our own place and I’ll make Christmas *extra special* .  This year we’re hoping to be joined by The Eldest Brother and his girlfriend and my two scrummy nephews.  Unfortunately we’ve heard that her dad has just been tested for cancer and if it’s very bad news then obviously they’ll make the most of Christmas by spending it with her family.  For Julia’s sake I hope it isn’t bad news.

3. Do you do have any holiday traditions?

Ummm, well we don’t go in for watching the Queen’s Speech.  I do insist in going to church with mum on Christmas morning.  It’s the only time of year that I do go, and I do enjoy it.  Obviously we have all the turkey and trimmings and lots of alcohol, and mum gets to have her yearly glass of sherry.  *Gosh, we do laugh.*  Oh, and I love popping along to the local shops on Christmas Eve because we sing carols and have a Salvation Army band and everybody stands there shivering trying to get into the spirit of Christmas whilst desperately wishing they could escape to the pub.

4. Do you do anything to help the needy?

I’m ashamed to say that I don’t go out of my way at Christmas.  But I do my bit during the rest of the year so I’m not that bad .

5. What one gift would you like for yourself?

Ah, now that would be telling …

I seem to have this problem with the pill.  The contraceptive pill that is.  I forgot to take it yesterday.  And the day before.  Perhaps I’m going senile.  Maybe my body is trying to tell me that it’s ready and waiting to fulfil its purpose.  It’s thoroughly annoying.  It happened last month too …

The Blokeys party last night was quite fun.  It was held at one of the colleges in Cambridge and the bar was already paid for, which was groovy.  I did my “people-watching” bit and found some quirky characters to keep me amused all night.  Getting the train late at night and being slightly intoxicated was a tad worrisome, especially when I realised that I was the only female on the train.  Then my drunken mind told me not to worry and that the media wants me to live in fear, so I drunkenly read my book and forgot about the other people.  And after about six hours sleep I managed to make it into work with only an ickle hangover and I quickly forgot about that when faced with 26 hormonal and excited kids first lesson.  I am getting too old to drink.  I want to be a teenager again.  I could drink for England back then, every single night, and I never suffered the next day.  Ah well …

  1. Glad you had fun times at the party and evil men didn’t take advantage of your less-than-sober state. Back in the day when my grandparents were still alive we all (and I mean the entire extended family, which was sometimes at least 20 people) went to their house but lately it’s just the nuclear family and Scott’s (my brother) girlfriend. Which is nice also, since I’m not really a socialite.

  2. Hee hee I know the feeling about drinking/hangovers, I just can’t do what I used to do (although it was a tad excessive!) Love your doll piccie

  3. Trust me, I never let anything slip. I know how mad it makes me feel, so I would never do that to anyone else. Certain Xangans *coughAlysoncough* get really mad at me when they ask me what comes next, but I don’t see the point of knowing what’s going to happen beforehand. So don’t worry. No Return of the King spoilers from me.
