If I was religious I expect that I would be praying right now … things like this make me so angry and sad.   And I feel ignorant because I don’t really understand why it is that the Chechens are so unhappy and willing to do this.

On a happier note though I am now Elizabeth.  Yay!  And I didn’t even have to be assertive.  Somebody asked because they needed to do something on the computer for me so I said Elizabeth.  Next thing I know even the Head is calling me by my rightful name.  Jubilations …

I need to relax.  I need to go to Tesco.  I need to indulge in a Friday Feast …

Appetizer
If someone gave you 3 new goldfish today, what would you name them?

Gertrude, Poutmeister and Ernest Higginbottoms.  My nephew has goldfish.  Well, he did have.  One of them died.  Or did they both die?  Maybe one was flushed down the toilet.  I can’t remember …

Soup
What’s the worst movie you’ve seen this year so far?

Crumbs, now I have to try to remember all that I’ve seen.  Which hints at the fact that maybe none of them were particularly gruesome to watch.  IF I had seen AVP it would probably be that.  I hear it’s dire.  Of course, I wouldn’t be able to tell you the best film I’ve seen this year.  I do like my films.  Stage Beauty next week … Mmmm, Claire Danes *shudders* … if I was a lesbian I would delight in her sensual touch!

Salad
If given the chance and you could pick the person, would you want to switch lives with someone on earth for one whole day?

Naturally.  Ah, but who?  Actually, I’d switch lives with anyone if it was just for a day.  It would be like going on holiday.  It would either be four star with all mod cons and lots of fun, or like being in some miniature caravan on the edge of a cliff during a hurricane.  And if it was the former I’d probably fight to stay switched …

Main Course
What’s your favourite season? Name 2 things you love about it.

Autumn.  Because I like it when the leaves go red, purple and brown.  It’s so pretty.  And because it gets cooler after the dreadfully hot summers we have to contend with here in England.

Dessert
What is something you frequently buy that you don’t really need?

Bags.  I get bored with my bags so very easily.  But they do come in very useful.

*nods wisely*

Happy weekends …

please God bless the Russian’s and the Chechens xxx Elsabeth

  1. Apparently there was a huge rise in the number of goldfish homocides after the movie “Finding Nemo” came out. A LOT of children thought that, low and behold, all drains lead to the sea! Poor goldfish. But then again, with a name like Ernest Higginbottoms, WOULD it be homocide?Glad the name thing got sorted out. I really hate being called by a name I dislike. Too many people try calling me Ronnie, and often I’m just too polite to point out I hate it.And btw… this summer wasn’t all that hot in England ;) At least not in the places I visited! I did get a sunburn after visiting Carlisle for a day though. I think that was a one-off! As soon as I moved to Canada at the end of August, the heat-wave set in. Every day since returning has been hot and muggy, and barely any cloud cover. Eeek!

  2. It makes me feel angry and sad too.  *sigh*
Fab goldfish names.  I may have to borrow those, as the boyfriend has just started a new fishkeeping hobby and I’m allowed to name some

  3. I fear this shall be a long comment as I have some catching up to do. First, you will never regret getting an iPod and shouldn’t be ashamed to say so. They are marvelous machines. Second, I just inherited some goldfish and *sniff* I don’t know what happened to one of them. One day there, the next day gone. Haven’t noticed a foul smell in my room yet. Third, Dodgeball is FUNNY. Small rewards for those that stay to watch credits YUMMY! Hope you enjoy your new employment as much as I do!

  4. Well, no more watching the news for Susie.  From now on I get all my news from xanga.com/katiefinger. I hadn’t heard about the hostage “resolve” until just now when I read it.  Of course, I’ve been asleep for most of the day.
I know this makes me a sad, sad little person…but it’s one of my ultimate dreams to one day shop at Tesco.
Woohoo for the real name recognition. Though you really should have been assertive about it.

  5. i’m a sucker for bags too. and shoes.  even if they’re tacky as all hell, if they are on sale, i buy them.  clothes, i couldn’t care less about, except for lingerie – that stuff is great!  :)
i think if i had three goldfish, i’d have to name them mr. book, mr. hand, and mr. sleep.  i recently watched dark city, and fell in love w/the ‘strangers’ names, and of course, richard o’brien.
