“What a pair of spectacles is here!”

I own two pairs of spectacles.  Designer spectacles.  Oh yes, only the very best for me.  I’m supposed to wear them for watching the tellybox, reading and using the computer.  Except I don’t and haven’t done so for, oooh, maybe eight months.  Due to the fact that my vision is vaguely not quite 100% at the moment I took the plunge and searched for them.

I found one glasses case.  No glasses.

And not finding them just makes me frustrated, thus creating a need to search for them even more, even though I’ve searched everywhere.

Still, at least I suddenly realised just how many bags I own and the amount of crap that stays in them months after they were last used.  Mouldy Polo anyone?  I need a Spring Clean.  But this will probably be after going to the opticians and spending vast amounts of money [on more designer glasses that will inevitably get lost in the realms of Nowhere], and just before the old glasses magically reappear.

Whilst emptying the washing machine of last nights washing this morning I discovered a pair of knickers that I haven’t worn in about four months.  Yep.

*shrugs*

How about a random photo?  This is my brand new niece, Valerie, with her big sister Emily.  It’s such a shame they’re so far away …

We had no Internet connectivity last night.  It made me wonder just what people got up to in the Dark Ages before the Internet existed.  I sat and twiddled my thumbs and fretted about how many junk emails I would have when I was able to check.  As it happens there were very few … *phew*

please God bless the nothingness that is this post xxx Elsabeth

  1. awhh cute kiddos
I lost my cellphone 6-7 months ago.  I went 4 months without one because I refused to buy a new one.  I saw my exact phone really cheap on ebay and won the auction.  2 effing days after I get the phone my “lost” phone magically appears in a jacket I hadn’t worn in months and months.  pffffttt!

  2. They are so precious, and Emily is growing up from the pictures you started showing!  Fun watching kids grow up on xanga!  I need a new pair of glasses… I haven’t had  a new pair since before college and my eyes have gotten oodles worse since then…which is why I very rarely wear them!

  3. I saw your snow comment over on Jane’s page–I could send you a couple of inches of ours from Milwaukee!  It hasn’t disappeared yet–even had to shovel in order to put my car in the garage.  :)

  4. I couldn’t find my sunglasses today.  So I borrowed the sunglasses of my eleven year old sister.  And yes they did fit me.  That is an adorable photo.

  5. You should get those very cute, sexy librarian chains to which you can drape your posh glasses.
I lately have been telling people “Oh it’s so 1965” lately everytime they aren’t hip and on the digital band wagon. So awful of me.

  6. glassesdirect.com – cheapy ones (presuming you haven’t lost your prescription along with your specs) until you find the expensive ones…Everyone’s having babies at the moment (well, lots of people at work are) and I’m not one bit broody. I’m so proud of myself

  7. Oh, gosh!  I found an old handbag the other month cleaning out my closet!  The junk I had left in there!
See, I bought a smaller purse so that I wouldn’t be carrying so much “stuff”.  Yeah, that worked…  Now I have just as big a bag – and occasionally it becomes too heavy for me to carry and I start looking at those smaller ones again…
I still have one that I’ve never used.  I like it, but it is the wrong shade of suede. ( It has fringes and beads!)  It is the ultimate in tackiness!  I adore it, but haven’t used it yet… (It is really much too small… and I don’t know if I have the nerve to carry it…)
Look at me ramble!  (and I missed this post when you posted it originally… again… Why do I do that so often?!?)
